  • 1 can (400 grams) Tuna Choose chunk or flaked tuna, packed in water or oil.
  • 1 cup Frozen peas Adds color and sweetness.
  • 1 cup Corn Canned or frozen corn can be used.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk preferred for a richer sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons Flour All-purpose flour to thicken the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Adds tang and depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano Enhances the flavor profile.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground for spice.
  • 1 cup Grated cheese Blend of cheddar and mozzarella.
  • Fresh parsley or chives For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • 2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  • 3. In a large saucepan, heat oil and sauté the onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • 4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir, and gradually add milk, whisking until thickened.
  • 5. Stir in mustard, oregano, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • 6. In a mixing bowl, combine pasta, drained tuna, peas, and corn. Pour sauce over and mix gently.
  • 7. Transfer to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  • 8. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  • 9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • 10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
