Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and celery, sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
2. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
3. Transfer mixture to the slow cooker. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Stir to combine.
4. Pour in beef broth, ensuring all ingredients are submerged.
5. Cover and set slow cooker to low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours.
6. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in whole milk. Adjust seasoning if needed.
7. Remove bay leaf and stir before serving. Serve over pasta or as desired.
Notes
Slow Cooker Bolognese can be frozen for up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
