Instructions

  • 1. Heat a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add the ground meat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • 2. Drain excess grease if necessary. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the meat and stir well. Add half a cup of water and simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • 3. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of the pot. Place three lasagna noodles on top.
  • 4. Add half of the taco meat mixture over the noodles, followed by one cup of shredded cheese and dollops of sour cream.
  • 5. Repeat layering with another layer of tomato sauce, three more noodles, remaining taco meat, another cup of cheese, and more sour cream.
  • 6. For the final layer, place the last three noodles on top, cover with remaining tomato sauce, and top with the final cup of cheese.
  • 7. Cover the pot and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 30 minutes, then remove the lid and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • 8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with cilantro and serve warm.
