Cabbage

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the cabbage by removing outer leaves, rinsing, slicing into quarters, and chopping into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and stir for an additional minute.
  • Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for 8-10 minutes until tender.
  • Prepare the rice if not done already and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cabbage mixture, cooked rice, beaten eggs, shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with remaining melted butter and pour the mixture into the dish.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be customized with additional vegetables or proteins. Perfect for meal prep and can be frozen for later use.
