Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Beef

  • 1 pound Beef Sirloin, thinly sliced Offers a tender and juicy texture.

Vegetables

  • 2 medium Bell Peppers, sliced Preferably one red and one green.
  • 1 cup Broccoli florets Adds crunch and nutrients.
  • 2 medium Carrots, julienned Provides sweet and earthy flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Infuses the stir fry with aroma and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Acts as the marinade for the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil Adds nutty aroma and richness.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil Used for cooking.
  • 1 handful Green Onions, chopped For garnish.

Instructions

  • Begin by marinating the beef. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef sirloin, soy sauce, minced garlic, and a tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • While the beef is marinating, wash and prepare your vegetables. Slice the bell peppers into thin strips, julienne the carrots, and chop the broccoli into small florets.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the vegetable oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef to the skillet. Spread it out in a single layer and let it sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  • After the beef has seared, stir-fry it for another 2-3 minutes until it is cooked through and no longer pink. Remove the beef from the skillet and transfer it to a plate.
  • Add the prepared vegetables to the skillet, starting with the carrots and broccoli. Stir-fry them for about 2 minutes.
  • After the carrots and broccoli have softened slightly, add the bell peppers to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil and toss everything together for about 1 minute.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or red pepper flakes. You can also incorporate different vegetables based on what you have on hand.
