Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground meat. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
If using mixed vegetables, stir them in and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper, and stir in the broth. Allow to simmer for a few minutes.
Prepare mashed potatoes by boiling peeled and chopped potatoes until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk.
In a greased casserole dish, layer the meat mixture evenly at the bottom.
Spoon the mashed potatoes over the meat mixture, spreading evenly.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
