  • Add diced carrots and chopped celery, cooking for about 5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, breaking it apart and browning for 8-10 minutes.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.
  • Add beef broth and stir to combine.
  • Sprinkle in dried herbs and add bay leaves, stirring everything together.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes.
  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, then remove bay leaves.
  • Plate spaghetti and ladle the beef rag over the top. Garnish with Parmesan if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes or different vegetables.
