  • 4-6 large Fresh Lemons Yield approximately 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • 1-2 teaspoons Activated Charcoal Food-grade activated charcoal powder.
  • 1/2 cup Simple Syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 4 cups Cold Water Filtered or sparkling water can be used.

Instructions
 

  • Gather all your ingredients: fresh lemons, activated charcoal, simple syrup, cold water, and ice cubes.
  • Wash the fresh lemons under cool running water. Cut them in half and squeeze the juice into a measuring cup to yield about 1 cup of lemon juice.
  • Prepare the simple syrup by combining equal parts water and granulated sugar in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then let it cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and cooled simple syrup. Stir well.
  • Add 1-2 teaspoons of activated charcoal powder to the mixture and stir vigorously until fully incorporated.
  • Pour in the cold water and stir well to combine. Adjust the water to taste.
  • Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve over ice cubes in glasses, garnished with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.

Notes

Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving again.
