Instructions
Gather all your ingredients: fresh lemons, activated charcoal, simple syrup, cold water, and ice cubes.
Wash the fresh lemons under cool running water. Cut them in half and squeeze the juice into a measuring cup to yield about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Prepare the simple syrup by combining equal parts water and granulated sugar in a saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves, then let it cool.
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and cooled simple syrup. Stir well.
Add 1-2 teaspoons of activated charcoal powder to the mixture and stir vigorously until fully incorporated.
Pour in the cold water and stir well to combine. Adjust the water to taste.
Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Serve over ice cubes in glasses, garnished with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.
Enjoy your refreshing charcoal lemonade!
Notes
Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving again.
