Instructions
Gather all your ingredients and tools: a medium-sized saucepan, a mixing bowl, a spatula, and an 8x8-inch square baking dish lined with parchment paper.
In the medium-sized saucepan, add the chocolate chips and butter. Place over low heat, stirring constantly for 5-7 minutes until melted.
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and stir until well combined and smooth.
Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract.
If using optional mix-ins, fold them into the mixture now.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
Cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for 2-3 hours until firm.
Once set, lift out of the baking dish and cut into squares.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
