Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned.
2. Drain excess fat, return to heat, and add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir for 2 minutes.
3. If using, add chopped bell peppers or onions and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until tender.
4. Stir in shredded cheese until melted, then remove from heat.
5. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. On the non-buttered side of 4 slices, spoon the beef and cheese mixture.
6. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side out, to form sandwiches.
7. Grill sandwiches in the skillet over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown, pressing down gently.
8. Flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the other side is golden and cheese is melted.
9. Remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Consider adding different vegetables or cheese varieties for variations. Serve with salad or soup for a complete meal.
