Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bologna Approximately 8 ounces, fried until golden brown.
  • 2 slices Bread Classic white or whole wheat.
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter For frying and toasting the bread.
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Optional, for added flavor.
  • 1-2 slices Cheese American or cheddar, optional.

Instructions
 

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools: skillet, spatula, and cutting board.
  • Heat your skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
  • Cut a small slit in the center of each bologna slice to prevent curling.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet and let it melt.
  • Place the bologna slices in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the bologna slices and fry the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  • If using cheese, place it on top of the bologna during the last minute of cooking.
  • Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Remove the bologna and toast the buttered side of the bread in the skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  • Assemble the sandwich with fried bologna on one slice and mustard on the other.
  • Press the sandwich together and return it to the skillet for another minute to warm through.
  • Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, cut in half if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, consider adding jalapeños, fresh vegetables, or using different types of bread and cheese.
