Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Large shrimp, raw and deveined Ensure shrimp are fresh or thawed if frozen.
  • 1 bunch Asparagus Choose firm, bright green stalks.
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 lemon Lemon juice Freshly squeezed for brightness.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Blackening Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Oregano

Instructions
 

  • Prep the shrimp by rinsing and drying them. Trim asparagus and cut into 2-inch pieces.
  • Mix blackening seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden. Flip and season, then cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove shrimp and sauté asparagus for 3-4 minutes until tender and bright green.
  • Return shrimp to skillet, drizzle with lemon juice, and toss to combine. Heat through for 1 minute.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

This dish can be served over rice, quinoa, or in a salad. Great for meal prep!
