Instructions
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Lay the sourdough bread slices flat on a clean surface.
On one slice of bread, evenly distribute the shredded cheddar cheese.
Wash the blackberries and pat them dry. Add them on top of the cheese.
Drizzle balsamic reduction over the blackberries.
Top with the second slice of sourdough bread and press down gently.
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outer side of the top slice of bread.
Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Butter the top slice of bread while the first side is cooking.
Flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.
Slice the sandwich in half diagonally and drizzle more balsamic reduction before serving.
Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
For variations, consider adding fresh basil, jalapeños, or different cheeses.
