Sloppy Joe Sauce
Store-bought or homemade sauce.

Any cheese that melts well.

Sourdough, Texas toast, or thick-cut white bread.

Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
If using, add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Drain excess fat, then stir in sloppy joe sauce and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Prepare bread slices and spoon sloppy joe filling onto two slices. Top with shredded cheese.
Place remaining bread slices on top and press down gently.
Melt butter in the skillet and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Remove from skillet, let sit for a minute, then cut in half and serve warm.
Notes
Customize with extra spices, vegetables, or different types of cheese.
