Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until the sugar dissolves.
Add chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add sesame oil. Once hot, add the marinated chicken, searing for 4-5 minutes on each side.
Remove chicken and tent with foil. In the same skillet, pour in the remaining marinade and simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
Return chicken to the skillet, tossing in the thickened marinade for 2-3 minutes.
Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier version, add gochujang to the marinade. You can also substitute chicken with firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
