Instructions
 

  • Select a well-marbled steak cut about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
  • Let the steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling.
  • In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, and olive oil to form a paste.
  • Rub the marinade all over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and ensure the grates are clean and oiled.
  • Place the steak on the grill and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving it.
  • Flip the steak and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).
  • Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice against the grain into thin strips and serve immediately.
