  • 1 cup Long-Grain Rice Rinsed to remove excess starch.
  • 1 cup Water Used in a 1:1 ratio with rice.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Oil or Butter Enhances flavor and prevents sticking.
  • Herbs or Spices (optional) Add for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

  • Measure out 1 cup of long-grain rice using a measuring cup.
  • Rinse the rice under cold water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
  • Transfer the rinsed rice into the Instant Pot.
  • Add 1 cup of water to the rice in the Instant Pot.
  • Sprinkle ½ teaspoon of salt over the mixture.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of oil or butter if desired.
  • Close the Instant Pot lid and set the steam release valve to sealing.
  • Select the 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' setting and set the timer for 4 minutes.
  • Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for 10 minutes after cooking.
  • Carefully switch the steam release valve to venting to release any remaining pressure.
  • Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Notes

Store leftover rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
