Instructions
1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg.
3. Stir until the mixture comes together. If too sticky, add more flour gradually until manageable.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
6. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into balls.
7. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until doubled.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
9. Brush tops with melted butter after baking. Let cool slightly before serving.
10. Serve warm or store in an airtight container for up to three days.
