  • 20-30 pieces Wonton Wrappers Keep covered with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 2-3 stalks Green Onions Finely chopped.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 0.25 teaspoon Pepper Black or white pepper, adjust to taste.
  • 2-3 cups Oil for Frying Vegetable or canola oil recommended.
  • 1 bowl Water For sealing the wontons.

Instructions
 

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Lay out wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water to help seal.
  • Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium-high heat. Test the oil temperature with a small piece of wonton wrapper.
  • Fry wontons for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • For baking, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake wontons for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  • Serve warm with dipping sauces like sweet and sour or soy sauce.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for crispiness.
