Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Add both granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter, stirring until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add this mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, stirring continuously.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Gently fold in the creamy peanut butter and chocolate chips if using.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Swirl additional peanut butter on top if desired.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your freshly baked Peanut Butter Brownies!
