  • 1 package Puff Pastry Usually contains 2 sheets; use high-quality, all-butter for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Nutella Rich chocolate hazelnut spread; adjust amount for desired chocolate flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for egg wash to give pastry a golden color.
  • 1 tablespoon Flour For dusting to prevent sticking.
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar Optional for dusting the finished tree.
  • Colorful Sprinkles Optional for decoration.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
  • Spread a generous layer of Nutella over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and press down gently to seal the edges.
  • Cut the pastry into a tree shape, creating a triangle for the top and smaller triangles for branches.
  • Twist each branch to create a spiral effect.
  • Brush the entire surface with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar and add sprinkles if desired.
  • Slice and serve warm, optionally with additional Nutella or ice cream.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. You can customize the filling and decorations to suit your taste.
