Instructions
Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop.
In a medium-sized saucepan, pour in 1 cup of fresh pineapple juice.
Add ½ cup of rice vinegar to the saucepan.
Incorporate ½ cup of packed brown sugar and stir gently.
Add ½ cup of ketchup and mix thoroughly.
Pour in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and combine well.
In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Add garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Slowly add the cornstarch slurry while continuously stirring until thickened.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving or storing.
