  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour Adjust based on humidity.
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 cup Warm Water About 110°F (43°C).
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Extra virgin recommended.
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4-6 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Chopped, optional.
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated, optional.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix well.
  • 3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture. Add olive oil and minced garlic. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • 5. Shape the dough into a ball, place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  • 6. Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, and cut into strips.
  • 7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 8. Twist each strip and place on the baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • 9. Let rise again for 20-30 minutes, then brush with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic and parsley.
  • 10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • 11. Let cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
