Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar, stirring gently until the sugar dissolves.
Add the active dry yeast to the warm water mixture and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Incorporate salt and vegetable oil into the mixture and mix well.
Gradually add all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes until it rises above the edge of the pan.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and serve fresh.
