Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and remaining sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then gradually incorporate the milk.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
Prepare the streusel topping by mixing brown sugar, oats, and nuts with softened butter until crumbly.
Pour the apple batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle the streusel topping over it.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
