Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips gently.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
Sprinkle half of the chopped nuts over the caramel layer.
Spread the remaining batter over the caramel and nuts.
Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and add the remaining nuts.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy!

These bars can be made a day or two in advance and stored in an airtight container.
