  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature.
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Packed.
  • 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips Semi-sweet.
  • 1 cup Caramel Sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans or Walnuts Can be toasted for added richness.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips gently.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  • Sprinkle half of the chopped nuts over the caramel layer.
  • Spread the remaining batter over the caramel and nuts.
  • Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top and add the remaining nuts.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy!

Notes

These bars can be made a day or two in advance and stored in an airtight container.
