  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup Ketchup Acts as the base for the Sloppy Joe sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Adds savory umami flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Yellow or Dijon mustard works well.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Introduces a rich, smoky flavor.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt To taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper To taste.
  • 4 pieces Buns Choose soft, sturdy buns.
  • 1 slice Cheese Optional, such as cheddar or American.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat for a couple of minutes.
  • 2. Add the ground beef and break it apart as it cooks, stirring occasionally for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • 3. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • 4. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • 5. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • 6. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard, mixing thoroughly.
  • 7. Sprinkle in smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, stirring well.
  • 8. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • 9. Toast the buns lightly in a separate skillet or toaster.
  • 10. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, adding cheese if desired.
  • 11. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
