Instructions
 

  • Prepare the brisket by trimming excess fat and seasoning with the spice mix.
  • Sear the brisket in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  • Remove brisket and add maple syrup to the skillet, scraping up browned bits.
  • Return brisket to the pot, cover, and cook in the oven at 300°F for 3-4 hours.
  • Let the brisket rest for 20 minutes after cooking.
  • Prepare waffle batter according to instructions.
  • Preheat waffle iron and brush with melted butter.
  • Cook waffles until golden brown and crispy.
  • Slice brisket thinly against the grain.
  • Assemble sandwiches with brisket, maple syrup, and another waffle on top.
  • Serve warm with optional toppings.
