Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add brown sugar and golden syrup, stirring until dissolved.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. In a mixing bowl, combine oats and salt.
Pour the butter mixture over the oats, add vanilla extract, and mix until well combined. Fold in any optional ingredients.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking tray and press down firmly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
