  • 4-5 medium Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet) Thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Sharp cheddar recommended
  • 1 packet Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 3-4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter For greasing and dotting
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions For garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a large baking dish with butter.
  • Peel and slice the potatoes thinly, about 1/8 inch thick.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the heavy cream, ranch dressing mix, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, sprinkling cheese and pouring cream mixture between layers.
  • Dot the top layer with small pieces of butter.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
