Casserole Ingredients

  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Rich tomato flavor for the casserole.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Provides a gooey topping.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken or beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake the meatballs for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the meatballs are baking, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over low heat.
  • In a casserole dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom, then arrange the baked meatballs over it.
  • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the meatballs and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving, garnished with fresh basil.
