Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with oil or butter and dust with flour.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil until creamy.
Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
Stir in boiling water until well combined.
Pour batter into prepared pans and smooth the tops.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
Layer and frost the cooled cakes with whipped cream.
