Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder Use high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt A pinch to balance sweetness.

Wet Ingredients

  • cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ¾ cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Boiling water Intensifies cocoa flavor.

Frosting

  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with oil or butter and dust with flour.
  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil until creamy.
  • Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
  • Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  • Layer and frost the cooled cakes with whipped cream.
