Instructions

  • Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Once the beef is browned, add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and the bell pepper softens.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until the beef and vegetables are well coated.
  • Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Taste the mixture and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Lightly toast the buns if desired.
  • Spoon a generous portion of the mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and place the top half over the filling.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For variations, consider adding jalapeños for spice, using lentils for a vegetarian option, or incorporating cheese.
