Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
Once the beef is browned, add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and the bell pepper softens.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until the beef and vegetables are well coated.
Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste the mixture and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Lightly toast the buns if desired.
Spoon a generous portion of the mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and place the top half over the filling.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For variations, consider adding jalapeños for spice, using lentils for a vegetarian option, or incorporating cheese.
