Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the green bell pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and add the tomato sauce. Stir to combine.
Add the brown sugar and mix until dissolved.
Incorporate the yellow mustard and Worcestershire sauce, stirring well.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Simmer on low heat for 5-10 minutes.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
Scoop the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun.
Top with the other half of the bun and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat before serving.
