Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare your baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
7. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
9. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
11. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
