7. Add elbow macaroni, ensuring it's submerged in the liquid.
8. Cover and cook according to pasta package instructions, about 8-10 minutes.
9. Once cooked al dente, remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
10. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
