Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. Remove from heat.
2. Immediately add the dulce de leche to the browned butter and stir until well combined and smooth.
3. Add the vanilla extract and sea salt to the mixture, stirring well to combine.
4. In a large mixing bowl, pour the Rice Krispies cereal and carefully pour the warm butter and dulce de leche mixture over it. Fold gently until all the cereal is coated.
5. Grease an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish and transfer the cereal mixture into it, pressing down firmly to create an even layer.
6. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.
7. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles. Optionally, drizzle with melted chocolate or sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
8. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
