Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients: warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Ensure the milk is warm but not hot.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until the mixture starts to come together into a dough.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Shape the dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  • If making savory rolls, sprinkle cheese, bell peppers, spinach, and garlic powder over the dough. For sweet rolls, spread brown sugar and cinnamon, along with raisins or nuts.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one edge into a log and cut into equal pieces, about 1-2 inches wide.
  • Place the cut rolls into a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and brush with melted butter if desired.
