Ingredients
  

Beef Patties

  • 1 pound Ground beef Opt for 80/20 blend for juiciness.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Plain or seasoned based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup Grated onion Adds moisture and flavor.
  • 1 large Egg Helps bind the ingredients.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor.
  • to taste Salt Use kosher salt for best results.
  • to taste Black pepper Freshly ground for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For browning the patties.

Mushroom Gravy

  • 8 ounces Mushrooms Fresh cremini or button mushrooms.
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour To thicken the gravy.
  • 2 cups Beef broth High quality, homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce Enhances savory notes.
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme Chopped for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped parsley For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into four patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  • Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir. Gradually add beef broth, stirring to prevent lumps. Allow to thicken.
  • Add soy sauce and thyme to the gravy, simmer for 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer in gravy for 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve patties topped with mushroom gravy and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Feel free to customize with different herbs or vegetables in the gravy.
