Ingredients
Ingredients
4
slices
Artisanal bread
Sourdough or whole-grain are great options.
1
cup
Fresh blueberries
Opt for ripe, plump blueberries for the best flavor.
1
cup
Sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
Shredded cheese melts more evenly.
2
tablespoons
Unsalted butter
For achieving a crispy, golden-brown exterior.
1
tablespoon
Honey or maple syrup
Optional for added sweetness.
Instructions
Wash the blueberries under cold water and pat them dry. Shred the sharp white cheddar cheese if not already shredded.
Spread a thin layer of unsalted butter on one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the shredded white cheddar cheese evenly.
Scatter the fresh blueberries over the cheese evenly.
Top with the remaining half of the shredded white cheddar cheese.
Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side facing outward.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich on it. Press down gently with a spatula.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.
Optional: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup before serving.
Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
Notes
For variations, consider using different cheeses or fruits, and serve with a side salad or soup for a complete meal.
