  • 4 slices Artisanal bread Sourdough or whole-grain are great options.
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries Opt for ripe, plump blueberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded Shredded cheese melts more evenly.
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter For achieving a crispy, golden-brown exterior.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.

Instructions
 

  • Wash the blueberries under cold water and pat them dry. Shred the sharp white cheddar cheese if not already shredded.
  • Spread a thin layer of unsalted butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the shredded white cheddar cheese evenly.
  • Scatter the fresh blueberries over the cheese evenly.
  • Top with the remaining half of the shredded white cheddar cheese.
  • Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side facing outward.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich on it. Press down gently with a spatula.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.
  • Optional: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup before serving.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

For variations, consider using different cheeses or fruits, and serve with a side salad or soup for a complete meal.
