  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Can substitute with dark or milk chocolate chips.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts (optional) Like walnuts or pecans for added texture.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  • Add melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and stir until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  • Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
