Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
Add melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and stir until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir gently until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
