Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth, yielding about 1 ½ cups of mashed bananas.
Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and stir until well combined.
Mix in the granulated sugar and eggs until creamy and well blended.
Add the vanilla extract and stir to combine.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, folding gently until just combined.
If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
